Text: 1 Kings 18:31-39 (King James Version)

"Father, I am your servant, willing and desiring to be used to bless your people."

The Fields are white and the laborers are few!
C.H. Spurgeon said, "If God does not save a man by truth he certainly will not save them by lies, and if the old gospel is not competent to work a revival, then we will do without the revival;"

1 Kings 18:31   And Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, unto whom the word of the LORD came, saying, Israel shall be thy name:

1 Kings 18:32   And with the stones he built an altar in the name of the LORD: and he made a trench about the altar, as great as would contain two measures of seed.

1 Kings 18:33   And he put the wood in order, and cut the bullock in pieces, and laid him on the wood, and said, Fill four barrels with water, and pour it on the burnt sacrifice, and on the wood.

1 Kings 18:34   And he said, Do it the second time. And they did it the second time. And he said, Do it the third time. And they did it the third time.

1 Kings 18:35   And the water ran round about the altar; and he filled the trench also with water.

1 Kings 18:36   And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word.

1 Kings 18:37   Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the LORD God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again.

1 Kings 18:38   Then the fire of the LORD fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.

1 Kings 18:39   And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, The LORD, he is the God; the LORD, he is the God.

Let's pray. Father,  Open my eyes so I can see Your truth.

Open my ears so I can hear Your voice.
Open my mind so I can understand Your Word.
And open my heart so I may receive all that You want me to receive. AMEN

We are told not to be ignorant of the devil's devices.

God's people are not helpless in the face of problems. We do not have to sit idly by and just accept whatever life deals our way. A Christian shouldn't have the negative mindset that there is a difficulty surrounding every opportunity. A good Christian sees an opportunity in every difficulty!

Every miracle God ever performed started out with a problem. Jesus didn't do miracles to make good things better. He did miracles to make bad things good. He righted wrongs and fixed broken things. Problems are opportunities for God to show Himself strong.

2 Corinthians 10:4
4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)

1: There must Always be ample preparation and personal time with God

This comes from self examination and true intent of the heart! This is where most good Christians miss God.

While good intentions the truth of the matter is Most and even many Preachers want to get to know God through someone else instead of getting to know him for themselves.

The only way to do that is to get in God's word for yourselves. Don't believe everything you hear someone else say just because they believe it to be true. Opinions are like arm pits. Just because they have a couple don't always mean the smell right.

Psalms 119:162   I rejoice at thy word, as one that findeth great spoil.

Psalms 119:11   Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

Psalms 119:89   LAMED. For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.

Psalms 119:105   NUN. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

Psalms 119:133   Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.

John 17:17   Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

Hebrews 4:12   For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Hebrews 4:13   Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

Hebrews 4:14   Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.

Hebrews 4:15   For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

Hebrews 4:16   Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Isaiah 43:18   Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.

Isaiah 43:19   Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

Jesus is giving us the invitation

John 7:37   In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.

John 7:38   He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

When you got it on the Inside it will burn through the outside!

Jeremiah 20:9   Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.

I am a disciple of Jesus Christ. I am part of the Fellowship of the Unashamed. I have Holy Spirit power. I won't look back, let up, slow down, back away, or be still. My past is redeemed, my present makes sense, and my future is secure. My face is set, my goal is Heaven, my road is rough, my companions few, my guide reliable, my mission clear. I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, diluted, or delayed. I will not stumble in the presence of adversity, ponder at the pool of popularity, or meander in the maze of mediocrity. I now seek His presence, lean by faith, love by patience, live by prayer, and labor by power.

The personal heart relationship must first be corrected and in right standings!

Jeremiah 17:9   The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

Jeremiah 17:10   I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.

Romans 8:27   And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

Revelation 2:23   And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works. When you are down to nothing but Gods word the fire is about to fall.

Revelation 2:5   Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

James 4:8   Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

Luke 5:1   And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret,

Luke 5:2   And saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets.

Luke 5:3   And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon's, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship.

Luke 5:4   Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.

Luke 5:5   And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.

Luke 5:6   And when they had this done, they enclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.

Luke 5:7   And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink.

Acts 2:1   And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

Acts 2:2   And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

Acts 2:3   And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

Acts 2:4   And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Acts 4:31   And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.

When you have real problems and impossible situations you don't need a God you can walk up to and 'high five.' You need a God that is so great, mighty, and powerful, that coming into His presence causes you to kneel in humble contrition.

Jeremiah 33:3   Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

Donald Gray Barnhouse once told a story of a young son of a missionary couple in Zaire. One day the little boy was out playing in his front yard, and suddenly his father appeared and very sternly said, "Phillip, obey me immediately. Drop to your stomach." The little boy obeyed. Then the father said, "Now, start crawling toward me." And the little boy began to crawl, not understanding what was going on. And then the father said, "Now, jump up and run to me as fast as you can." With tears in his eyes, the little boy ran toward his father, and his father scooped him, hugged him and kissed him. He then slowly turned around and pointed to the deadly snake that was hanging from

James 2:17   Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

James 2:18   Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: show me thy faith without thy works, and I will show thee my faith by my works.

James 2:19   Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

James 2:20   But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

Acts 2:17   And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

Acts 2:18   And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:

Acts 2:19   And I will show wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:

Acts 2:20   The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:
