Text: 2 Cor. 3:12 -18   (King James Version)

"Father, I am your servant, willing and desiring to be used to bless your people."

The Fields are white and the laborers are few!
C.H. Spurgeon said, "If God does not save a man by truth he certainly will not save them by lies, and if the old gospel is not competent to work a revival, then we will do without the revival;"

Corinth was infamous for its sexual vice and immorality.
We could say that the fame of Corinth would be comparable today to cities like Las Vegas or Montreal. It was a city of culture but with a highly humanistic view of the world.

2 Corinthians 3:12   Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech:

2 Corinthians 3:13   And not as Moses, which put a veil over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished:

2 Corinthians 3:14   But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same veil untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which veil is done away in Christ.

2 Corinthians 3:15   But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the veil is upon their heart.

2 Corinthians 3:16   Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the veil shall be taken away.

2 Corinthians 3:17   Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

2 Corinthians 3:18   But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

There are only two type of people Lost and Redeemed. You are either His or you are not His.  He is Either Lord of All or he is not Lord at all.

Now the good news is if you are truly His then you have the  holy spirit dwelling on the inside of you.

1 John 5:12   He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

1 Corinthians 6:19   What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

We can Never enjoy the Liberty of the Holy Spirit without First Knowing Holiness

May God Grant us a Heart that hungers for a holiness that is genuine!

Hebrews 12:14   Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which

no man shall see the Lord:

Without holiness, no one will see the Lord. we can't be with God without first being holy. If the Bible puts so much emphasis on personal holiness, why is this seldom taught in today's churches? If you ask the average Christian what it means to be holy, most could not answer. True holiness is a hard concept to fully grasp, but it is an essential part of the Christian life. Can someone claim to belong to Christ and never pursue holiness? Both the Old and New Testaments put a high priority on holiness; therefore we should take a closer look at holiness and seek to understand this crucial part of the Christian life.

What is holiness?
I stated earlier that most Christians would not be able to define holiness. In a sense, this is rightly so. The holiness of God is so far beyond our comprehension that we struggle to grasp it. If we could grasp a complete image of an infinite God with our finite mind, then we could fully grasp His holiness. Even a small glimpse of God drives men to their knees. Isaiah saw a vision of God and cried, "Woe to me for I am undone!" Job claimed that if he could see God he would ask God why all this trouble has come upon him. When God spoke to Job, he never asked God why, but instead cried out, "I am unworthy and I lay my hand over my mouth". When the prophet Ezekiel saw the same vision Isaiah saw, he fell on his face to the ground until God lifted him up.

Throughout the Bible you see the same response when men encounter God. No man has or can see God in all His glory. Moses begged God to reveal His glory. God said that no man shall see His face and live. Why? Because what does not measure up to the holiness of God cannot survive in His presence. Sin does not affect God, but the holiness of God will always consume sin. We are sinful by nature. There will be a day when we will be made pure and can see God face to face, but until then we pursue holiness and draw closer to God.

The Self Life we live can never be improved upon by our own good works and resolutions. It must be crucified with Christ!

As God Sanctifies us in Holiness, he will lead us though an ever deepening process of death to self and life with him.

Matt 16 24-25 If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross and follw me. For who soever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.

Rom 6:6 Knowing this that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

So there will never be a full victory, freedom, and power until we come to terms with a daily denying ourselves. And taking up our cross, and following him in a surrendered life.

Look at what it means to Die to Self

John 12:24

John 12:24   Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.

Proverbs 17:3   The fining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold: but the LORD trieth the hearts.

These passages describe the vital principle of spiritual brokenness.

When the outer shell of the kernel is broken, the life within comes forth to produce many more kernals. Yet, of the outer shell is  never broken, the life within can never come forth in fullness.

This was also seen  in the death resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Though he had no sin, he was willing to be broken, so that God's eternal life could flow for all mankind.. Yet so many believer live in bondage because of their resistance to God's process of breaking their old lifestyle.

In Believers the outer shell represents the old nature and self. Even though the Perfect  nature of Jesus Christ lives in you as a believer, the old casing of fleshly thoughts, habits, hang-ups will greatly hinder the flow of Gods liberty and power through your life.

Only when our  Natural human strengths are broken are you forced to a far deeper dependence on Christs life within you/ Jesus Becomes your strength and righteousness.

Breaking bring an end to the hidden ways you were still leaning on.

The refiner in proverbs of the precious metal heats the object until it begins to break apart. Under the refiners fire, the previously undetected impurities begin to rise and become fully evident.

Only as they surface can they then be detected and removed. Without the intense heat of the fire  the impurities could have never been discovered.

The primary mark of a spirit filled believer is a kind loving spirit. The primary mark of a carnal believer is a critical angry attitude. A sure sign of carnality is a loud pushy attitude which demands it own way.

Romans 8:5   For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

Romans 8:6   For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

Romans 8:7   Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

Romans 8:8   So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

Romans 8:9   But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

Romans 8:10   And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

Romans 8:11   But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

Romans 8:12   Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.

Romans 8:13   For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

Romans 8:14   For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Romans 8:15   For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

Even our Speech will hold us to bondage.

God places enormous importance on our speech. In Matthew 12:36 Jesus makes a sobering statement. But I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give an account of in the day of Judgment.

Eph 4:29 Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth.

Do you ever speak slang words that are crude and inappropriate? Do you use Gods holy name in any other way than worship, honor and praise.

It is also important for me to make note that this is a daily process of growth and not a onetime event. Some sins and Strongholds could take some time to see the full manifestation of victory.

Colossians 3:1   If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

Colossians 3:2   Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

Colossians 3:3   For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

Colossians 3:4   When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

Romans 6:19   I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.
