Text: Revelation 3:20 and Psalm 90:12 (King James Version)

"Father, I am your servant, willing and desiring to be used to bless your people."

Galatians 5:16   This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

Galatians 5:17   For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

Galatians 5:18   But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

Galatians 5:19   Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

Galatians 5:20   Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

Galatians 5:21   Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Galatians 5:22   But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

Galatians 5:23   Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Galatians 5:24   And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

James 1:14   Every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

James 1:15   Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

We are seeing the spirit of perversion and worldliness and corruption, not sneaking into our churches, not hiding in our pews, but filling our pulpits, And preaching their perverted self serving Gospel leading people into lust, and covetousness and greed.

ILL. A little more than 100 years ago, A man by the name Alexis de Toqueville, a famous French political philosopher, visited our nation to uncover the secret of our greatness. He traveled from town to town, talking with people, asking questions, examining every facet of our society.

Returning to France, he wrote these amazing words, "I sought for America's greatness. I found it not in her fields & forests. I found it not in her mines & factories. I found it not in her Congress & great tribunals."

"It was only when I entered her churches & heard her pulpits thundering against sin & preaching righteousness that I discovered the secret of her greatness." Then he added, "America is great because America is good. If America ever ceases to be good, America will cease to be great."

The soul of America is God. O beware, America, lest we lose our soul!

SUM. Folks, if we put our trust in education, we'll get what education can give us. If we put our trust in money, we'll get what money can give us. If we put our trust in government, we'll get what government can give us. But if we put our trust in God, we'll have everything we need, for all eternity.

Jeremiah spoke of a simular time in Israels history
Jer 5:31 The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love [to have it] so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?
Another scripture clearly defines the spirit of this generation
Isa 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

We are seeing today a society that is out of control
America  no longer a Christian nation, Everyday we are hearing of how God is being rejected and removed from our schools, our Holidays,  and now Billboards from atheist groups in Florida “One Nation without God”
Christmas is a time for parades, and celebrations, but Christ is left out,
Easter is a time for easter egg hunts, and rabbits, and dinners, and parties

We can look around and see and hear what's happening in the world and we can assess how bad it is and we can get depressed and go into hiding and cover our heads, and say it's hopeless, it's perverse, its corrupt, and wicked and I just can't do  anything about it.  But  God said in

Deut 2:3

3Ye have compassed this mountain long enough: turn you northward. (KJV)
It is time to come clean before God!

God knows that our tendency is to fall or slip into a state of wandering (moving without vision, without passion and without purpose)

Compassing the Mountain: ( The mountain  means those things or that thing in your life that you have never gotten victory over, ( A habit, a critical spirit, unforgiveness, gossiping, cussing, losing your temper, overeating, prejudging people, lust, jealousy, self righteousness

Compassing the mountain means that every time you experience similar conditions you always respond a certain way, I.e. you react according to the flesh and not the spirit,

It=s a cycle, You react according to the flesh, then feel guilty, then repent and feel better until the next time you experience similar conditions.
Compassing the mountain means: You never deal with the real issue. (It means you skirt the issue, then to continue on religiously as though there is no problem.

It=s the cycle of responding by the flesh to pressures you experience.
Some will get depressed
Some will over eat,
Some will lose their temper
Some will lie
Some will hold a grudge
Some will sulk and pout, and draw into themselves
Some are moody and unpredictable

Proverbs 16:25   There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.  Continue to walk in the Flesh and you will die in the flesh

One of the worst things that can happen to a child of God is to fall into this lifestyle of making allowances for the wrong attitudes and appetites of our flesh, but continuing on just as though we have fully dealt with it.

A Very real danger we face as Christians is that of becoming religious, (routine) very often is substituted for relationship, and form for power,
2 Tim 3:5Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

The children of Isreal made an eleven day journey in 40 years, because they were more comfortable with the form than the power, They would rather go through the motions than to submit themselves to God.
Just before entering their promised land, God brought them to a place called Gilgal=
(wheel, rolling) It was here that God would take away the reproach of Egypt from them

This place represented all of their wilderness wanderings, their endless circles, their ceaseless activity, their religious ceremonies void of God=s power.

Many people know just enough word to make them argumentative, but not enough to make them change. Just enough to make them religious but not enough to make them Godly.
Just enough to make them happy but not enough to make them Holy.

Carnal cycles: continually moving but never growing,( everlearning but never coming to the knowledge of the truth.)
Then here is that great danger that faces anyone who continues in this condition: (They will mistake activity for progress) Oh I am going somewhere now!
And convince themselves that because they are busy for the Lord, that they are growing in the Lord.
(They deceive themselves)

It=s what the bible refers to as being conformed to this world. I.e. responding to the pressures of this life from a fleshly standpoint and not according to the word of God.

In every situation you have a choice (respond according to the flesh or according to the Word of God,) If you respond according to the flesh, It=s one more time around the mountain.
I am here to tell somebody you have compassed this mountain long enough.
How do we get passed this life of circling the mountain, or this life of carnal cycles?

1st  We must allow the sharp edge of the word of God to have it's way in our lives and identify those attitudes and characteristics that are of the flesh, and cut it away  (crucify it)

Galatians 2:20   I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

This means that we surrender to the operation of the Holy Spirit as he addresses those secret places in our lives, and we submit to the Word of God as our deliverance and our healer.

Ga 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

Let the devil paint the darkest, saddest, most perverse and corrupt picture of hopelessness and despair, and sin that he has ever painted
And God will turn it into a back drop for the greatest display of his glory this world has ever seen when we surrender fully unto his lordship and crucify our flesh once and for all.

Listen to me for some of you on the verge of giving up because  It  looks like the devil is wining and the devil may actually think he's winning,

He's thought that before,

*When he had all the children killed by pharaoh to try to keep Gods promise from being fulfilled..

(But God put his promise in Pharaohs house, and let him raise him.

*When the children of Israel were trapped at the red sea entangled in the wilderness, the Egyptian army behind them.
But God turned the red sea into a highway:
Yes the devil is working hard, and yes we see the evil and the wickedness and the perversion,
But don't turn the switch of faith off
God is up to something big
I believe he has saved the best for last

Hag 2:9 The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the LORD of hosts.

Joe 2:23 Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first [month].

Everything about God is progressive, he is always moving forward, he is always building, he is always outdoing himself.

Jesus does not  know the word impossible
Mt 19:26 But Jesus beheld [them], and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
Mr 9:23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things [are] possible to him that believeth.
We look and we see impossible conditions, darkness, confusion, hopelessness, perversion, corruption, (impossible)
Jesus looks and he sees a perfect opportunity for a miracle, a perfect backdrop for a display of his glory.

Many times what looks like a breakdown on our behalf, is just a setup for a breakthrough.

Mk 5:23 Then there was the case of Jairus the ruler of the synagogue, whos little girl was at the point of death:
Jesus heads for Jairus home to heal her.
A messenger interrupts them (trouble the master no longer, thy daughter is dead.
Now the stage is set:
Guilt: why didn't I come sooner, why did I let my pride stand in the way, I should have listened to my wife.
Greif: My baby girl is dead, only 12 yrs old
Anger: We might have made it if that woman hadn't stopped Jesus, Now she's healed and my daughters dead.
He was my last hope:
I heard how he turned the water into wine, and healed the nobleman's son and delivered the demoniac, but my daughter is not sick, nor demonized she is dead.
(Then Jesus Words penetrate his thoughts) Fear not only believe:
The house is filled with mourning, weeping and wailing, death is hanging in the air
Man sees darkness, hopelessness, grief, sorrow, pain.
Jesus sees the perfect backdrop for a manifestation of the glory of God. (Little girl I say unto thee arise)..
What a mighty God:
We have seen him turn water into wine, feed multitudes, give sight to the blind, walk on water, cast out devils and raise the dead.
Surely we have seen him at his best, surely we have seen the greatest manifestation of his power and glory>
No He's bigger than that
The best is yet to come
You ain't seen nothing yet
One day news came to Jesus: He whom thou lovest is sick
Upon his arrival Lazrus has been dead four days (not seconds, minutes, hours, but 4 days
The stone has been rolled in front of the tomb.
The stone speaks of finality, the end, it's over, it's beyond help, the condition is incurable, the problem is irreversible.

If you would have come earlier, you could have healed him, we believe you could have kept him from dying, but now it's over.
Isn't it amazing how we limit God
You can do this but not that, You have the power to stop something from happening, but you can't turn it around.
My friend that's where we're wrong, this whole book is a book about turn around.
Your too late:
Jesus says: Take away the stone (Lazrus come forth, Loose him and let him go.
