Text:  Matt 13:3-23   (King James Version)

"Father, I am your servant, willing and desiring to be used to bless your people."

The Fields are white and the laborers are few!
C.H. Spurgeon said, "If God does not save a man by truth he certainly will not save them by lies, and if the old gospel is not competent to work a revival, then we will do without the revival;"

Matthew 13:3   And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;

Matthew 13:4   And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:

Matthew 13:5   Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:

Matthew 13:6   And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.

Matthew 13:7   And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:

Matthew 13:8   But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.

Matthew 13:9   Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Matthew 13:10   And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?

Matthew 13:11   He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

Matthew 13:12   For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.

Matthew 13:13   Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.

Matthew 13:14   And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:

Matthew 13:15   For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

Matthew 13:16   But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.

Matthew 13:17   For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.

Matthew 13:18   Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower.

Matthew 13:19   When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.

Matthew 13:20   But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;

Matthew 13:21   Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.

Matthew 13:22   He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.

Matthew 13:23   But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

Let's pray

Father, Open my eyes so I can see Your truth.

Open my ears so I can hear Your voice.
Open my mind so I can understand Your Word.
And open my heart so I may receive all that You want me to receive. AMEN

One day, a young disciple of Christ desirous of wanting to fully receive all that God had for him visited the home of an elderly Christian.

He had heard that this old man had never lost his first love for Christ (P) over all the years.

The elderly man was sitting on the porch with his dog taking in a beautiful sunset. The young man posed this question:

"Why is it, sir that most Christians zealously chase after God during the first year or two after their conversion, but then fall into a complacent ritual of church once or twice a week and they end up not looking any different than their neighbors who aren't even Christians?

I have heard you are not like that.
The old man smiled and replied, "Let me tell you a story:

One day I was sitting here quietly in the sun with my dog.
Suddenly a large white rabbit ran across in front of us.

Well, my dog jumped up, and took off after that big rabbit. He chased the rabbit over the hills with a passion.

Soon, other dogs joined him, attracted by his barking.

What a sight it was, as the pack of dogs ran barking across the creeks, up stony embankments and through thickets and thorns!

Gradually, however, one by one, the other dogs dropped out of the pursuit, discouraged by the course and frustrated by the chase.

Only my dog continued to hotly pursue the white rabbit."

"In that story, young man, lies the answer to your question." The young man sat in confused silence.

Finally, he said, "Sir, I don't understand. What is the connection between the rabbit chase and the quest for God?"

"You fail to understand," answered the well-seasoned old man, "because you failed to ask the obvious question.

Why didn't the other dogs continue on the chase?

And the answer to that question is that they had not seen the rabbit. (Pause)

O' Brothers unless you see the prize, the chase is just too difficult. You will lack the faith, the passion and determination necessary to keep up the chase."

Brothers and sisters we are the generation of perilous times!

2 Timothy 3:1   This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2 Timothy 3:2   For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

2 Timothy 3:3   Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

2 Timothy 3:4   Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

2 Timothy 3:5   Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Caught up in a chase but never seen the prize!

2 Timothy 4:10   For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.

Mark 13:28   Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near:

Mark 13:29   So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors.

Mark 13:30   Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done.

Mark 13:31   Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

Mark 13:32   But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.

Mark 13:33   Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.

Mark 13:34   For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.

Mark 13:35   Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:

Mark 13:36   Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.

Mark 13:37   And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.

Luke 21:25   And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

Luke 21:26   Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

Luke 21:27   And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

Luke 21:28   And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

Matthew 25:6   And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.

Matthew 25:7   Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.

Matthew 25:8   And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.

Matthew 25:9   But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.

Matthew 25:10   And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.

Matthew 25:11   Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.

Matthew 25:12   But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.

Matthew 25:13   Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

Hebrews 12:1   Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

Hebrews 12:2   Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Matthew 7:13   Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

Matthew 7:14   Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Matthew 7:15   Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

John 10:27   My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

John 10:28   And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

John 10:29   My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

John 10:30   I and my Father are one

As your Lord he will bankrupt heaven if needed to deliver you!

When Hudson Taylor first went to China, it was in a sailing vessel.

Very close to the shore of the cannibal islands the ship was caught in a calm, and it was slowly drifting toward the shore ..and the savages were eagerly anticipating a feast.

The captain came to Mr. Taylor and sought him to pray for the help of God. 'I will,' said Taylor, 'provided you set your sails to catch the breeze.'

The Captain declined to make himself a laughing stock by unfurling the sails in a dead calm.

Taylor said, 'I will not undertake to pray for the vessel unless you will prepare the sails.' And it was done.

While engaged in prayer, there was a knock at the door of his stateroom. "Who is there?" The captains voice responded, 'Are you still praying for wind?'

'Yes.' 'Well,' said the captain 'you better stop praying for we have more wind than we can manage!

Hebrews 10:37   For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.

Hebrews 10:38   Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

Hebrews 10:39   But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.

Philippians 3:13   Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,

Philippians 3:14   I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

2 Timothy 4:6   For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.

2 Timothy 4:7   I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

2 Timothy 4:8   Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
